Escobars Mexican Restaurant in Kanab

I LOVE this place! Their food and service is unmatched. Once we got in we felt like family right away. Their owner is the coolest lady ever. Their service was also fast, we got out food quick and it was hot and tasted great. We are super glad we stopped through here on our trip and sad we couldn’t go back again. Definitely give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Decent food, not great service. I would recommend getting pork; the ground beef wasn’t great. Someone came to our table literally twice. The girl who brought our meal sat it down and left so fast we couldn’t even ask for anything. We couldn’t get a drink refill or more chips and salsa. We had to go up to the hostess area to get the check.

Service was great, Rosa was wonderful. Food was piping hot: excellent. It was served out fast too. They got our order right and we asked for something not to be added. We are just passing through town but it was so nice we needed to comment. Loved

Dude, just ate here after reading the reviews... We are from near Austin, Texas and what an amazing experience not only with the food but with the hospitality! Portions were HUGE! Grilled Jalapeño on point as in perfect... Salsa and chips awesome and salsa was cold as it should be and if you wanna sweat and like spicy ask for the homemade spicy salsa... Wonderful... great kids menu and very nice atmosphere!Will return when we come back in the winter !!

Best fish tacos and shrimp tacos! You can order the salsa in 12 oz. containers to go (which we did at our third and final visit before leaving town). Well worth the wait for a table! Great experience, enjoy!

We’ve ate at several places in Kanab over the years. Escobar’s is by far our favorite. If you’re wanting a nice meal and not sure where you want to go, look no further than here. Awesome

Stopped the night at a nearby RV park. Saw the 5 stars and thought we'd give it a try. It was very good. I got the carne asada burrito, wife had the taco salad, kids had quesadillas. All were great.Extra round of chips and salsa were worth the $2.

We love Escobar's their chips are so good, I always ask for hot sauce to mix into the salsa. So good! Machaca on the breakfast menu is a favorite, but you really can't go wrong.

Escobar's is AWESOME! We drive from Brianhead Ut to Kanab (65 miles one way) to have dinner or lunch. It's always good and always running red hot. It doesn't matter what time you are there it is busy.

We had the best meal at Escobar's this week! The enchiladas were to die for, the frijoles were obviously homemade. That salsa!! I will defenitely eat here again if I find myself in Kanab again!!

The service was slow but we did walk in thirty minutes before close. The food was delicious and the salsa was flavorful. You get chips and salsa with your meal. We ordered the chimichangas. One of the best I've had in a long time! No margaritas served here.

Told us our food would be ready at 8:20pm and food wasn’t ready until 8:50 and then blamed us for supposedly being late to come pick up our food—ridiculous! Owner walked by us many times while we waited and kept ignoring us without offering to help or give us an update with our food

Yum is the word. We brought it back to the rv to eat and both of us bragged a bunch on the food and the portions. My husband had enough for his lunch tomorrow. The prices are good and the food is great. This is where you want to eat in Kanab. I’d drive a long way to have this again. Thank you Escobar’s cooks.

The food here is really good. I honestly wasn't expecting such a high level taste, but everything they made was delicious. Get there before 5 or you'll probably have a wait.

Great service from Rosa and great food!! My girlfriend and I would be going back for the 3rd time today if it wasn't closed on Saturday 😅. Authentic Mexican food. It was busy when we went (around 5pm) but not overwhelming at all. Food was out timely and really hot! Chips and salsa are great and so is the fried ice cream.

Have been going to Escobar's in Kanab for as long as I can remember and the food has always been great! Service is good with friendly staff. If your near Kanab, in kanab or just passing through its a must stop for great Mexican cuisine !

Been coming here since 1999 it's the same 100% authentic, 100% delicious food every single time. There's nothing on the menu I don't recommend. You're going to love what you order I guarantee.

Wow some big burritos! Some of the best chips and salsa we've ever had and we are always trying out Mexican joints. Great flavor for the burrito and the chili relleno. They also have the option of retried beans or black beans. Fast service and very friendly wait staff. I'd eat here often if I lived here.

Manager was great food was excellent would have gladly given 5 stars it was deserved! But some of the younger help were rude and acted like we were putting them out being there.so sorry Escobars but sometimes the young ones forget who is really paying there check!

I have access to decent Mexican food at home, and they were on par.Can't really make a fair review since I didn't get to try the salsa. We had take out, and they didn't gratis any to our bag. However for this area it is probably one of the best moderately priced options.

This place was really busy on a Tuesday evening. We arrived 20 minutes before closing and there were still people coming in. The food comes in pretty big portions. I got chile relleno, beef enchilada, and beef taco combination, comes with rice and beans. The food was good, but nothing amazing. Horchata was also very nice.

This restaurant is amazing. Food quality and taste is true to the Mexican heritage.The service and cordiality would require frequent visits. That would be hard as I live out of Utah. I will stop again.

This is the best Mexican restaurant that I have eaten at since moving from the state of Georgia. The chips and salsa are by far the best that I have had anywhere. I chose the taco salad which is something I had not had in a long time because they have a some of everything in it. The taco salad is excellent as well as the guacamole. I am currently living in Page, Arizona and will definitely be making the trip up to Kanab many times for the best restaurant meal I have eaten in Utah, California or Arizona. Thanks 😋

This place is amazing. Never let's me down. Dont listen to the small complaints on here about service. It's a small eatery in a small town. But its huge on flavor and food quality. Best Mexican food north of the grand canyon!

This is the very best Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande! Our all time favorite since Rosa and Leo were in Cedar City. With aloha from Hawaii Kai, Oahu

Heard about this place from local people. They did not disappoint. Food not too spicy but flavorful and filling. Highly recommend trying. Also, service is speedy.

Staff very friendly as we arrived. This will be strange but restrooms are VERY clean. Appetizer: chips and salsa 👌🏾 excellent!Chicken Burrito was okay; its missing a tad more flavor. Overall great experience and the owner Rosa is awesome!

Very good food with friendly and efficient service. Only drawback bottle beer only, no draught. Would eat here again any time I'm in town.

1st night was great. Very busy, but great service from the owner. We got a chimichanga and shredded chicken taco salad. So good, we went back the next night. That was our mistake. We went for an early dinner, around 4pm, not too busy, and we got a young woman waitress (owners daughter?). She was very slow and kind of ignored the customers. She was more interested in talking with the other young female staff, then actually doing her job. Minus a star or two for that. Food was still good, but much better the first night. Really like their chips and salsa.

We were glad to stop here for lunch while heading towards Zion National Park. The staff was friendly and we were served well. The food was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The enchilada sauce was just awesome.

This is the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life. The Salsa blew me away to the point where I could drink it. The beef, pork, and chicken was tender and delicious. My favorite was the beef with red sauce. It's a good thing I don't live in Kanab or I'd be eating here every day. God bless you lovely folks at escobar's. Rosa ran the entire crowded dining room like a champion, with an incredible personality to boot. Don't consider coming here, just do it.

The food was delicious. We did a large pickup/to go order. Inside was packed. No social distancing or mask required which for me was a little unsettling.

This restaurant was absolutely great. The atmosphere, the service, the FOOD, and the price...it's really great to meet the people who put their name on the line. Rosa was an awesome individual. We loved our meals. Next time I'm in The area will definitely stop in for a great meal.

Oh, my, gosh! Best Mexican food ever. Food comes hot. Flavorful (I had tostada and enchilada- both beef. Shredded beef, not ground.) Will definitely go back

LOVED the food here and the TAT was pretty good but charged for everything, including extra sour cream. I had the pork enchiladas with rice and beans, queso and chips, and salsa and chips. The chips were crispy and light, the salsa was flavorful and refreshing with the right amount of spice. The queso dip was delicious, and I added it to the top of the enchiladas. They could have added more guacamole and sour cream to the meal as it seemed off balance but that was a minor imperfection as compared to the meal as a whole.

Words can't even begin to describe how much we LOVE Escobar's. We're from the Salt Lake City area and my wife's birthday meal request was for Escobar's in Kanab. We made a trip of it and ate dinner at Escobar's twice.
